It’s been a long time since we’ve last published an interview with an SEO expert, but today we have an exciting new one. Borislav Arapchev from IdeaBg.com, an SEO expert from Bulgaria was kind to answer our questions and we’re glad to share the interview with you.
Without any further ado, here’s what Borislav has to share.
1. Who are you and what’s your experience with SEO?
Hello, everybody! 🙂
I am Borislav, a SEO specialist from Bulgaria. Started many years ago /about 2001/, in the time of internet cafes in my country, when people usually have no PCs at home /me too/ , i dreamed of working on a computer. University degree – Ecologist. I worked as a salesman of watermelons for 7 levs per day :), after that in a T-shirts factory, in my spare time pursuing my desire to work with a PC and to make web-sites. So I started to work in internet cafe and learning HTML, JS and all that stuff 🙂 . Not so much resources existed then and I looked at the code of other web-sites. First MS Front Page installation, first Macromedia Dreamweaver 4, web-sites with frames /that was the web fashion 🙂 / and learning, and learning, while other people are playing games.
2. What is your biggest SEO achievement? How did you do it?
Well, my client ranked for buy botox phrase at position 1 in Google 🙂 It was really hard, a lot of months serious work. On page SEO, content, link bulding, strategy, etc, etc.. And thank God the client is so friendly, to understand us, to help us, to discuss with us all the points – then the miracles happen 🙂 And now he is very satisfied, of course 🙂 It brings him a lot of money and prosperity 🙂
3. What’s the main difference between optimizing for a local country and Google.com? What do you have to do different?
Well, local is the new global 🙂 ! China market shows us, that distances are not a problem, when you offer really nice prices in the Internet era. But … Google preferably ranked better local sites, when you search on your mobile /and even on desktop/, because people prefer to see a store or visit a cafe that is close to them. That is normal. And then comes the difference – if you target a local country – you have to use preferably local links and to show that you are local object. Your content have to mention local country and city, some physical venues, events, etc. But when a business is growing the next level is to go to the international scene. Then you have to make more language versions of your web-site, to achieve more links, international or from other countries you target, etc, etc.
4. How do you like to build backlinks?
Well, everyone in the SEO industry knows the best links are earned links. Links, published by happy clients, naturally posted by satisfied customers. But … it so rare and not so much … so we have to build links – into online directories, social media, press release web-sites, etc. My favorite method is to create content – so much useful, helpful, original or funny, so people to publish links to it by themselves, to share it, to love it. Well, it’s not so easy, and not all the clients supports us in this idea, but when it’s done, the results could be very solid. We have a client with more than 2 000 % traffic growing, relying of this strategy.
5. What backlinks are working best for you right now?
We are using nowadays mainly links with the URL of the client only. It is a safe method, and no problems and penalties with that. Using main keywords in the same sentence or paragraph is very efficient too. So … this is a some kind of mixture of link and mention / co-citation/ – so – it’s working good.
6. Any SEO predictions for 2016 and beyond?
I think that quality content /from a trustfully brand name/ will remain probably the Top factor – as it provide usefulness to the users and it is the main purpose of the World Wide Web. Content, that is unique, useful, informative and even funny. And with the help of links /which determine popularity of a web-site in internet space/ – it’s the new old formula 🙂
